Of course we ate here. Who wouldn't?An Ode to the Trip to California:
In a fifteen passenger
we went and returned.
Across the desert:
it scalded and burned.
Mom in driver's seat,
taking on the canyon turns,
eating trail mix and drinking
diet coke with the peeps .
Dad resting in the back,
catching up on sleep
for a ten years' lack.
The Joe family trudging
along in the next van.
Spitting and screaming and
princesses all part of the plan.
Steve and Mindy squished
in the front, not murmuring
any sounds of complaint,
an example for Brayden:
they were Saints.
Brayden car-seat content,
beat us all in the game
of being totally silent.
Tiff and Mike, oblivious
to the world. And that's it :)
Chelise was carsick the
entire drive, noting only
how she'd just rather fly.
Now Ben and Lizzy,
deserving their own full poem,
were the duo of duos.
Together, apart, friends, and
always near,
brought the most tears and cheer.

We were stopped by an incredibly long train. When in doubt- JUMP OUT! and take a picture.
