It's My Birthday, I Can Fly 'Cause I Want To

My birthday this year was one of my best.  It seems each year brings surprises and de-surprises that are unanticipted, but each adds a new depth to my happiness and growth.  I can honestly say that I've experienced unprecedented growth in the past year (this sounds financial, but it isn't).

Some highlights include: teaching a calculus and algebra class, moving home from school, starting a tutoring business, training for an ironman, taking 1st place in my age category in a triathon, taking 3rd place at a 5K, waitressing (it was my lifelong aspiration as a little girl!), becoming best friends with my family, starting up a string quartet http://www.saltlakestrings.com/), reading the Old Testament (almost through...), turning around my attitudes and desires to be more consistent with a disciple of Jesus Christ, visiting Washington DC, and starting full-time professional employment.  WOW!

To start the birthday picture parade, I always have to put up the most flattering: Mommers annually wakes up the birthday princess as a daunting hour, complete with a camera.
Good morning sunshine! The flattering annual early morning picture  (the white fuzz is our puppy, Scout).
The happy birthday girl with her two favorite ladies!

My hercules!
I did get my exercise in.
