A Visit to University of Nevada Las Vegas: Radiochemistry

I returned from a trip to UNLV, where I visited the Radiochemistry Graduate Program.  I've been accepted as a PhD candidate beginning this Fall, and had the chance to meet the UNLV professors, students, administrators, and get to know the city and surrounding areas.

I stayed at a beautiful hotel with two Royal Swans, named Elvis and Priscilla.
I toured the laboratories, which are replete with analytical instruments.  Pictured above are a set of three contactors in series (where contactors are used to mix and then separate chemicals).  This is a pretty big deal, especially to me!

To the left is a tube filled with Plutonium, which is amazing.  In my time at the nuclear national laboratory, I've never gotten this close!
