Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas!
There's no better way than pictures to document our little Christmas Eve night! We missed our missionary Kara, and Wayne and Joe and their families- but we'll be together next year! Here is the quick play-by-play:

Dinner: Thanks to Mom and Tiff! We had some new specialties- spinach and Parmesan dip, taquitos, and our favorite display of... fruit! :). You can't forget the homemade Minestrone soup. It was the definition of delicious. --Thanks Mommers!

Conversation
: The following are some fun little clips of reminiscent moments.

Dad: He documents the first time that he and Mom went skiing- only it wasn't Mom's first skiing trip...

Steve: He pioneered the family (Mindy, Mom, Kara, Liz, Ben) for a trip up Mt. Timpanogos. They were prepared-Steve is an Eagle Scout- and left on an afternoon for a night hike and sunrise view from 11,000 feet. What happened... and the few things that went right.

Steve: Lucky was our 'unlucky' mini sheltie puppy growing up. She was born 7 days before Steve, the daughter of our Gma/Gpa VDG's two dogs. We got Lucky, and our cousins got the other pup from the litter. She was driven on a towel in the back seat all the way to our Woods Cross home from Orange County, CA. Steve recounts his poignant feelings of her death:) (he he he). In all actuality, we all really do miss her.

Mindy: Mindy attended a BYU study abroad in Jerusalem in 2008, and shares an experience from the Holy Land. A friend of hers made a little crown from some indiginous flowers, and caused an epiphany for Mindy. She shares a very special learning experience :). Love you Schminders!

Celebration Time: We DID IT... ten years after we all should have stopped enacting the Nativity, we didn't :). Mindy brought some special Jerusalem suprises! She had gold, frankencinse and myhrr in authentic boxes from the land of Christ. The actors were as follows: Lizzy-Mary; Tiff-angel and wise man; Steve-shephard; Chelise-wise man; Mindy-star and producer, Mommers-narrator, Ben-sheep, shephard, wise man, tree, and fence post (we love you Buzzer!)

Dad followed up with the characteristic reading of The Gift of the Magi. Next was the BEST pajama gift-opening: the girls leopard pjs! Pictures to come :)

We're not jealous. We are not jealous. We are not jealous. Okay, I think it is a righteous jealousy. We love you!
