I can't say enough of how cold the race was- freezing, freezing, freezing doesn't do it justice. It took every ounce of courage to keep moving (my hands and toes were numb before the race even started).

Despite the abominable cold, I finish in a good time- 44 minutes 37 seconds- fast enough to take 3rd place in my age category!

I was docile before the beginning of the race, arriving pensive about the chilly weather and felling a bit tired after little rest the previous night. I felt a hand on my shoulder at the start line- and I had a pace car the whole time. Thanks Shane!

By the end of the race, I was excited to be alive and placing! If you can't tell, it was celebration time!

Moral of the run- run for a cause :).
