A Wedding Trio

The three girls played for a wedding ceremony- and it turned into a windy and rain-ladened gig. While the bride proceeded down the isle accompanied by Pachabel cannon, we encountered the misfortune of all three pieces of music blowing off the stand head! One by one we dropped out, scrambling to catch our place. In the final moments of the processional, it became a one-violin solo resounding the Pachabel theme. Interestingly, nobody knew the difference. Thank goodness for experience!

Pictured below are the pads of our fingers after the gig. They are blackened from pressing onto the neck of the violin, and it takes time and consistent practice to bolster calluses strong enough to withstand hours of playing.

Post-show we visited a little restaurant, made quaint and interesting by the painted windows.

How neat. Great pics. Looks like your fingers hurt quite a bit afterwards.

I am interested in your experience as a BYU Ballroom dancer, could you give me some advice as to how to prepare for the team, what the practice and time commitment is like, and just how your whole experience went? Thanks my email is whitneybarben@hotmail.com
