I reflect often of this quote on those days where I just don't seem to
feel. The case of feelinglesness isn't always a bad thing. It can result as a recoil to overexertion, a natural response to stress, or the contended state of consistency. Whatever the cause, I try to exert my heart, nonetheless.
"Is bread the better for kneading? So is the heart.
Knead it then by spiritual exercises; or God must knead it by afflictions."
