VDG Thanksgiving 5k: The Gobble Wobble

What could such a gathering be about?  Name bibs on Thanksgiving...?
It's race time, VDG style.

Thornton Burgess, in his book Bowser the Hound, penned the words,
"Who runs in circles never gets far."  The VDG's decided an alteration of the phrase was in order in keeping with the calorie-consuming-nature of the Thanksgiving holiday.  We modified his words to be,
"Who runs in circles never gets fat."
In such a spirit we put on our own VDG 5k- or what was anticipated to be 3.2 miles of run/walk/stroller-pushing fun.  Due to the chilly wind, our little race became even littler, and we made it about one mile.  Thanks to T and M for being the race planners.  Our race was legitimate- with medals, race-paraphernalia water bottles, and our own individual finish lines to break through!

Wow! Great job! I would have been cheering so loudly for all of you, or better yet, maybe running along! My kids would have been scootering.

That looks like such a fun family tradition! What a great way to not feel guilty about eating all that food later on. :)
That phrase is a good Thanksgiving motto too.
So you actually did two races on Thanksgiving? That is awesome.
