An Aged Youth

For one so recently immured
with embracing time,
It's borderline absurd
I've lost already my climb:

The ascent for which
my youth was made,
has peaked and troughed
into luckless spade.

I'm sorry for you Leesy. It sounds like you have lost some hope, but I know there's still much in you. You are powerful and capable. I love you sister.

To lose the fetters of earth's lust lorn years,
Adapt to more than earthly fears.

Character forged in heat of youth
dipped at times in melancholy's mirth.
Embrace, and breathe deep, revisit again
the core, the deep, the common to transcend.
Time continues, ages go by,
but the child within need never die.

More wise today than yester-year,
freed more from foibles and careless tears,
Legs not so swift, felt much too stiff,
yet the heart and soul a better gift.

Relinquish time imbued with provincial stress,
Put the foot forward to the ultimate test.
A higher climb, a farther reach
Character,
character,
to learn, and to teach!

New Chapter, different chapter,
new nuances, new details to capture.

A greater scale, a more reaching gear,
next to work on humanity's great generational reel!

Youth never luckless, never vain,
gives birth to more than the mundane.

Prepared for more than those things at first aspired,
move forward to the next intended quest's fire.

So feel,
embrace,
and drink deep,
say goodbye to those things lost;
for they make way for greater things,
treasured things,
of much greater cost!

You are awesome Chelise!!
